Soul Care Spring Retreat
Walking with the Risen Jesus

Saturday | April 20, 2024
9-11:30 am

Jesus, the resurrected Lord, took time to walk with his disciples before he ascended. Makes sense—reality had just been drastically altered by the resurrection. He walked, talked, listened, explained, encouraged, and made breakfast!

Since Easter is not a one and done event, but a beginning, we need some space to walk with Jesus and let the reality of living a life not confined by death and in relationship with a Living Jesus permeate our being. What does it look like for you to trust that Jesus’ Spirit is with you in What does it look like for you to trust that Jesus’ Spirit is with you in the complexity and ordinariness of your life?

This Soul Care Retreat is designed to give you guidance
and time to slow down & “walk” with Jesus. There will be space to literally walk, if you wish, as well as spend time journaling and praying about what walking with Jesus means for your life. This is a time for you, in the company of others, to reflect on the gift of new life that Jesus offers you.   We invite you to come as you are and enjoy!

They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them. (Luke 24:14-15)

Ruth Haley Barton encourages us regarding this time after Easter: “It’s a good thing Easter is a season and not just a day because some resurrections take time.  Like the coming of spring, some resurrections happen gradually; they are not overnight sensations…Fortunately, the Easter season (fifty days, eight Sundays, seven weeks—however you want to look at it) is longer than Lent because there are some areas of our lives where resurrection takes longer than dying…For us mere mortals, Easter cannot be done in a day."
