Ecumenical Immigration Pilgrimage 2025

October 4th| 9:30AM-1:30PM | In this Jubilee Year of Hope, Catholics and other Christians throughout Western Washington are called to be pilgrims and prophets of hope by praying for, being in solidarity with, and showering compassion upon immigrants and those who are being held in the ICE Processing Center in Tacoma.

Catholics and other Christians from across Western Washington will make a pilgrimage to the detention center to demonstrate solidarity and express hope and compassion for detainees and all immigrants.

Saturday, October 4

Meet at Union and drive down to gather at St. Leo, Tacoma then walk to the ICE Processing Center.

8:30 AM: Meet at Union to carpool

9:30 AM : Opening remarks, logistics and other information at St. Leo

10:00-11:00 AM - Pilgrimage to the detention center with prayer and song along the way

11:00 AM - Mass outside the detention center

12:00PM - Journey back home

1:30PM- Back at Union

*Please know that for those who are unable to walk in the procession, a bus is available to transport those persons from St. Leo to the ICE Detention Center.

After the Pilgrimage concludes, the participants are on their own to get back to St. Leo. The bus can also return participants to St. Leo at the end of the Pilgrimage.
